Congratulations to Ko Ravi Chabra!
Myanmar Unicode fonts are available on Apple iPads now!

I could use Masterpiece Sans font on iPad "within" my own web browser since it first released in early Nov.
The challenge is to support it natively so that all apps can use the font (eg, sms, safari, email) without jail-breaking.
We know Khmer has done it by localizing for both iphone and ipad.
cheers
Permalink Reply by Tun on December 29, 2010 at 6:51pm This is how a custom font can be embedded within an app.
In fact, it is pretty straight forward, as long as the font is AAT (Apple Advanced Typography). Special thanks to Masterpiece Uni Sans - all the hard work ko sun tun, ko tin myo htet and ko ngw tun have put in. credit should go to them.
But, the challenging part now is to support the font natively outside one's own app. Then, we can use for SMS, Safari etc. It will be a break through. Looking forward to a good news
cheers

Permalink Reply by Ravi Chhabra on December 29, 2010 at 11:13pm Thanks bro, but the real credit should go to the developers of Masterpiece Uni Sans. What I have done it simply embed it. I did not have iOS earlier so was enable to try this and was told that embedding doesn't work yet. Perhaps it did not work in earlier versions of iOS?
I am still working on the app and it will be releases shortly. No installation required. Just visit the site and jump from there to desired site. Facebook, Gmail and Twitter will be the first targets followed by Wikipedia (strangely Wiikipedia seems to be more difficult to work with than FB!) after that there will be an Add your own content link much like Flipboard. Like Ko Tun said the real challenge would be to get it natively running on iOS without jail breaking so that it can be used on non browser based applications. I think we will see that by the end of year 2011. We got a lot of strong response and a lot of positive feedbacks.
