I saw some people asking how to start the journey in networking field. When we say networking, everybody will think about CCNA as a start. Yes, it's really a very helpful or must I say mandatory task to do before going into networking filed. However, to be honest, I've seen many CCNA holders who don't really have real CCNA level knowledge. It is because those people just tried to obtain the cert without really learning fundamentals of networking due to the popularity of the cert to secure a job in networking field.

It's not a crime nor a big deal if we look at all the situations and conditions in our home country. It's understandable as most of our people want to go out to pursuit a better career to support their families. But when it comes into real world, those people without proper knowledge will have a very hard time in their work if they don't really have sound fundamentals.

My aim here to make this discussion is not about guiding people to go into networking field but just to share a very good resource which can make your understanding of internetworking very solid so that for every step you make to become a successful networking professional (not just an engineer) will become a lot easier and systematic.

Ok, let's stop talking and open the curtain. Here it is
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ff5171f0f526fad3d2db6fb9a8902bda
It is the book called Internetworking with TCP/IP Volume I, authored by Douglas E. Comer. It is all-time best-selling TCP/IP book. Some of you might already know this book and I personally feel that this book can give you strong fundamentals of networking especially based on TCP/IP protocol suite. After you read and understand the contents inside, you will see things are easy to learn and understand for further study and/or preparation for your professional certs. Preparing the CCNA straight away without prior basic knowledge of internetworking can be difficult (or not very systematic or not a very good approach) as it is actually meant for professional with some working knowledge and experience.

Of course, single book cannot make us a master but at least we need to know what are the real good books so that we don't need to read thousands of books to explore in the wild networking world, do we? I am sorry for the a little bit poor quality for the pdf since I can only get it from some free hosting and upload it to mediafire which I guess is easy for people in Myanmar to download. Let me know if I need to re-upload in other sites.

Btw, if you are already an expert in networking, don't bother with this post. But I think the book is still a good reference.

P.S. The author is currently a Vice President for Research in Cisco Inc. His earlier works and projects were related to develop today's Internet.

Please let me know if mediafire is not suitable for everyone.
Hi Bro Jake,

I'm really appreciate for sharing knowledge and your kindness. I tried to download it yesterday but I couldn't. There was a problem in Mediafire. But i get it now. U know, we don't know exactly which E-book is suitable and the best one to read because of our lack experience in Networking. But now i have one to read. Thanks.

STM
